RAJOURI, Jan 22: The body of a 45-year-old man was found under mysterious circumstances near the Dhanidhar Fort area of the district today, triggering concern and tension in the area.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rehman (45), son of Mohammad Munshi, a resident of the locality. According to family members, they suspect foul play and have alleged that Abdul Rehman was murdered.
Soon after the recovery of the body, Police were informed and the body was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for medico-legal formalities.
As per the Medical Superintendent, GMC Rajouri, Dr Shamim Chowdhary, a postmortem examination of the deceased was conducted at GMC Hospital Rajouri to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated an investigation.
