UDHAMPUR, Jan 21: Urging the concerned authorities to expedite the process of disbursement of compensation so that flood-hit families can rebuild their lives with dignity, prominent social activist and senior leader, Pawan Khajuria has called upon his colleagues and grassroot activists to help the affected families in completing documentation and guiding them through official procedures wherever required.
He was addressing a monthly meeting of his colleagues and supporters at the Udhamour office, where representatives from different areas participated and shared ground-level issues faced by the public.
Speaking on the issue of compensation and relief disbursement among flood-hit families, Pawan Khajuria stressed that the genuinely deserving families must be adequately compensated without any discrimination. He said that relief measures should be transparent and fair, ensuring that assistance reaches those who have suffered actual losses.
“Natural calamities leave behind immense pain and hardship. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that relief reaches the affected families promptly and no deserving person is left out,” he said.
During the meeting, several activists highlighted local issues related to infrastructure, basic amenities, and public welfare. Pawan Khajuria assured them that all genuine concerns would be taken up with the concerned departments.
Pawan Khajuria emphasized that staying connected with the masses is the true essence of public service. “We should not limit ourselves to meetings or offices alone. Our real work lies among the people, listening to their problems and making sincere efforts to resolve them,” he asserted. “People look towards us with hope and we must ensure that their trust is not betrayed and their issues are taken up at the right forums in a timely manner,” he added.
