JAMMU, Jan 20: MLA Anantnag and former Minister, Peerzada Mohammed Syed today issued directives to concerned engineers of PWD Anantnag to frame estimate for construction of a boundary wall around the cremation ground at Chitaar Anantnag so that the work is completed during the financial year 2025-2026 for which funds can be released from MLAs Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The MLA gave directives to AEE PWD Anantnag in presence of a delegation of Shiv Mandir Welfare Association, Anantnag that called on him here, today and submitted a memorandum in this regard to Peerzada Mohammed Syed.
The MLA gave a patient hearing and emphasized that such essential public facilities must be preserved with dignity and provided with basic infrastructure.
The delegation was led by Jai Krishen Razdan and accompanied by Hira Lal Pandita, chairman JKPCC (Migrant).
Its other members included M.K.Zutshi, Pran Nath Dadroo, Chand Ji Waguzari, Ramesh Dadroo, Shiban Ji Koul and Sanjay Razdan.
During the meeting, the delegation submitted a memorandum highlighting the long-pending need for proper demarcation and protection of the cremation ground at Anantnag. The delegation emphasized the concerns of the local community and the necessity of safeguarding the cremation ground with adequate infrastructure.
He assured the delegation that funds from constituency development fund shall be provided for the construction of a boundary wall around the cremation ground at Chitaar and issued on spot instructions/ orders to A E E PWD Anantnag to provide estimate of the above said work immediately so that construction work shall start within this financial year 2025-2026.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the MLA for his positive response and commitment to addressing the genuine concerns of the Kashmiri Pandits.
