JAMMU, Jan 18: A book based on the life and works of renowned Dogri writer and poet, Yashpaul Nirmal, written by Dr. Ashu Sharma, Sahitya Akademi Awardee, was released at World Book Fair 2026, New Delhi at the stall of Sarv Bhasha Trust, New Delhi.
On this occasion Rajinder Ranjha, renowned poet and former Member Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi was chief guest; Gagan Sandhu, Sahitya Akademi Yuva awardee in Punjabi presided over the function; eminent writer Ashok Pandey, organiser Sarv Bhasha Trust, Keshav Mohan Pandey, Arvind Tiwari, Sahitya Akademi, Baal Sahitya Awardee, Sahitya Akademi and Gursevak Singh, Punjabi Scholar and poet were special guest.
In this 200 pages book, Dr. Ashu Sharma expressed her views in different articles based on the life and works of Yashpaul Nirmal.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said that Yashpaul Nirmal is a movement in himself and he has written in different genres like poetry, prose, children literature etc.
“His children novel Chhuttiyan has been translated into 27 major languages of India and he is encouraging the young generation for promoting Dogri language for the last 35 years under the banners of Dogri Kala Manch, Akhil Bharti Dogra Sanskriti and Dogri Bhasha Akademi,” he maintained.
Gagan Singh Sandhu also spoke on the occasion.
