JAMMU, Jan 14: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded the Leadership Skills for Managers Trekking-Based Management Development Programme (MDP) for executives of a Maharatna company with a valedictory ceremony held today.
The three-day experiential programme was conducted from 12-14 January 2026 in the Lower Himalayas, focusing on leadership development through outdoor experiential learning.
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Prof Jabir Ali, Program Director and Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, and was graced by Prof Rajesh Sikka, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, and Dr Ateeque Shaikh, Program Director, IIM Jammu.
Addressing the participants, Prof Jabir Ali stated that multiple leadership dimensions were deliberated during the programme and appreciated the high level of participation and interaction by the executives. He emphasized that leadership today requires adaptability, resilience, and reflective thinking, especially in complex and dynamic environments. He highlighted that experiential learning in challenging natural settings strengthens decision-making, teamwork, and emotional intelligence. He encouraged participants to take key insights and actionable takeaways from the programme and apply them in their organizations while contributing positively to society at large.
Prof Rajesh Sikka, Co-Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, highlighted the role of continuous learning in sustaining leadership excellence and organizational growth. He stated that such immersive programmes provide fresh perspectives, strengthen peer learning, and enable participants to translate insights into workplace performance.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants, followed by the vote of thanks proposed by Dr Ateeque Shaikh, Program Director, IIM Jammu.
