JAMMU, Jan 10: The office of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Jammu under the leadership of the Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu, organized an awareness session on new labour codes with the members of the Jammu & Kashmir Petroleum Dealer Association.
J&K Petroleum Dealer Association led by president Rahul Gupta, Ajay Gupta (vice president), Ramnik Singh (vice president), Avatar Singh (general secretary) and around 20 members attended the meeting with Deputy Labour Commissioner regarding registration of their association and rolling out of new labour codes. The interaction was quiet fruitful and lasted for around 90 minutes.
The members present heard about the new changes envisaged under the Code and even sought clarification regarding issues related to working hours, overtime as well as probability for the employees to opt out of the Employer’s Provident Fund Scheme. The association members requested for sharing the formats related to maintenance of the records/registers well in advance so that the compliances part on the part of the employer is fulfilled in advance.
The Deputy Labour Commissioner assured them that the requisite formats would be circulated well in advance before the Codes are effectively implemented once the draft Central as well as State rules are notified.
