JAMMU, Jan 10: The second issue of Jammu Pensioners’ Post, a quarterly newsletter of the Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA), Jammu, was released at a function held here today.
The newsletter was released by CGPWA President Kuldeep Khoda in the presence of members and senior citizens.
The 16-page newsletter carries a detailed representation sent by Khoda to the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Minister of State for Pensions and the Chairperson of the Eighth Central Pay Commission.
The representation raises concerns over the validation of the Central Services (Pension) Rules through the Finance Act, 2025 and seeks inclusion of revision of pension for existing pensioners in the Terms of Reference of the Eighth Pay Commission.
Addressing the gathering, Khoda said that despite assurances given by the Finance Minister in Parliament and later by the Secretary Expenditure that the interests of old pensioners would be protected, no formal order or amendment in the Terms of Reference has been issued so far.
He said this has caused concern among pensioners across the country and added that CGPWA, Jammu is coordinating with other associations to raise a united voice.
He also thanked the Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo for addressing several pensioners’ demands and expressed hope that pending issues would be resolved soon.
Earlier, General Secretary K B Jandial highlighted the association’s activities during 2025, including cultural programmes, health camps, awareness events and social gatherings.
The newsletter also features articles on environmental issues and health.
Vice President Dr Sudarshan Kumar proposed the vote of thanks, while a cultural programme was presented by artists of the Information Department. The proceedings were conducted by Nisar Ahmad.
