SRINAGAR, Jan 5: Police in Budgam today arrested a drug peddler and recovered charas from his possession.
Authorities said a police party from Police Post Narbal, during a checkpoint established at Syed Mohallah Narbal near Peer Masjid, intercepted a vehicle (Ertiga) bearing registration number JK05M-8910.
“During the search of the driver, 32 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Ahad Wani, resident of Wanigam, Pattan, Baramulla,” the police said.
