SAMBA, Jan 4: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba police has foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba, rescued seven bovines from the clutches of smugglers and seized vehicle.
A police spokesman said its team of Police Post (PP) Mansar of PS Samba during special naka on Surinsar road, intercepted an auto load carrier bearing Registration Number JK14K- 2031 for its checking. During checking, seven bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the bovines have been rescued and shifter to a safer place. The vehicle used in illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized, he said.
He said a case FIR No. 10/2026 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
