POONCH, Jan 1: In a major offensive against cross-border terrorism and its support networks, Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached an immovable property of a Pakistan-based terror handler and launch commander under the stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), signalling a firm resolve to dismantle the financial and logistical backbone of terror outfits operating in the Poonch-Rajouri belt.
In a statement, In a decisive and resolute action against terror networks operating from across the border, Jammu & Kashmir Police have attached an immovable property belonging to a Pakistan-based terror handler and launch commander of a banned terrorist outfit, under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The attachment has been effected in connection with FIR No. 194/2024 registered at Police Station Gursai, District Poonch. The property attached comprises 04 Marlas and 02 Sarsai of agricultural land, situated at Village Nar, Nakka Majhari area of Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch.
The attached property is owned by Rafiq Nai @ Sultan, son of Mohd Afsar, a resident of the area, who is presently operating as a Pakistan-based handler and launching commander of the banned terrorist outfit Tahreek-ul-Mujahideen / Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force, it reads.
Statement reads that, The accused Rafiq Nai @ Sultan is actively involved in supervision of narcotics and weapons smuggling, facilitation of infiltration of trained terrorists, and revival of terrorist activities in the Poonch-Rajouri sector.
He has been declared a “Designated Individual Terrorist” and is wanted in multiple serious criminal cases, including but not limited to the following, FIR No. 82/2003 u/s 302/307/120-B/121/122/123 RPC, 7/25/26/27 IAA, PS Gursai. FIR No. 292/2020 u/s 120-B/121/122 IPC, 7/25/26/27 IAA, 18/20/23/38 UAPA, PS Mendhar. FIR No. 107/2021 u/s 302/307/120-B IPC, 7/25/26/27 IAA, 15/18/20/23 UAPA, PS Gursai. The attachment was executed by a joint team of Police Station Mendhar and the Revenue Department, after following all due legal procedures, verification, documentation, and obtaining approval from the competent authority. The market value of the attached property is assessed at approximately ₹10 lakh, it reads.
This action forms part of a broader and sustained strategy to dismantle the financial, logistical, and support infrastructure of terrorist networks, and to ensure that individuals involved in anti-national and terror-related activities are deprived of their resources, it reads.
