JAMMU, Dec 31: A joint delegation of the Kashmir Electrical Employees Workers Association (KEEWA) and the All J&K Low-Paid Employees Federation (JKLPEF) met the Managing Director, Power Development Corporation (PDC), who is also Additional Principal Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD) here today.
During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held on various long-pending issues concerning employees.
The delegation highlighted several genuine demands affecting daily wagers, contractual, need-based workers and other low-paid employees.
The major demands discussed included settlement of pension cases, formation of clear rules and norms, regularisation of daily wagers, contractual and need-based workers, holding of Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), release of hardship allowance, settlement of SRO-related cases and provision of basic facilities to workers.
The officers gave a patient hearing to the representatives and responded positively, assuring that the genuine issues raised would be addressed within a short time.
