Former BJP MLA Ramnath Manhas remembered on 22nd death anniversary

JAMMU, Dec 31: Pargwal Memorial Committee, Khour, today paid rich tribute to late Ramnath Manhas, senior leader of Praja Parishad and former BJP MLA from the Chhamb Assembly Constituency, on his 22nd death anniversary.
Ramnath Manhas, a resident of Pargwal, represented the Chhamb Assembly Constituency from 1977 to 1982. He passed away on December 31, 2003. A tribute programme is organised every year on this day to remember his contributions to society and politics.
The programme was held at the Shaheed Captain Gandharv Singh Manhas Memorial. BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma attended the event as the chief guest, while Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma was also present. People from different areas offered floral tributes to the portrait of Ramnath Manhas.
Speakers recalled his life and work, saying he earned respect and affection through his honest and dedicated service. They said he set high standards in politics by always working for the welfare of the people and carrying everyone along.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said Ramnath Manhas played an important role in various movements, including during the Praja Parishad period. He added that Manhas’s life continues to inspire party workers to serve the nation selflessly.
MP Jugal Kishore Sharma also paid tribute and said that Manhas’s contribution to strengthening democracy was remarkable and would always be remembered.
Those present on the occasion included MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat, former MLA Krishna Lal Bhagat, former Vice Chairman Kisan Advisory Board Daljit Singh Chib, Mandaleshwar Mahant Rameshwar Das, BJYM State President Arun Prabhat Singh, DDC Bhushan Varal, Mandal President Gaurav Singh, District President Kuldeep Sharma, BJP leaders Ashok Chib and Jagdish Bhagat, former Sarpanch Bhupinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh, and several other BJP leaders, sarpanches and panchs.
