JAMMU, Dec 25: A group of 71 students and 4 caretakers from Jammu Zone was flagged off today to participate in the 26th Rashtra Katha Shivir, to be held at Pransla village in Upleta tehsil of Rajkot district in Gujarat from December 27, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
The programme is being organised by Shri Vedic Mission Trust with the aim of exposing youth from border and hilly districts to national-level cultural, educational and motivational activities, while promoting patriotism, social responsibility and national integration.
The flag-off ceremony was held at GO Mess, Jammu, and was conducted by Shamsheer Hussain, Staff Officer to IGP Jammu Zone.
The students have been selected from districts including Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar and Poonch, representing Government Higher Secondary Schools, Police Public Schools and private institutions.
Jammu and Kashmir Police facilitated the selection process and made arrangements for the safe travel of the contingent from Jammu to Rajkot, in coordination with the organisers.
Four caretakers-SI Jai Paul Sharma, ASI Rajeshwar Nath, HC Raju Badyal and Malti Adhikari of Police Public School Miran Sahib-have been deputed to accompany the students throughout the journey and the camp.
Addressing the students, Shamsheer Hussain said the Shivir would provide an opportunity to interact with youth from across the country and understand India’s cultural diversity.
He urged the participants to maintain discipline and act as ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir and the J&K Police.
Among those present were Latif Ahmed, SP Adm ZPHQ Jammu; Himanshu Gupta, Senior PO ZPHQ Jammu; Mukesh Sharma, AO ZPHQ Jammu; Rajesh Anand, DSP Estates Jammu, and other officers.
