JAMMU, Dec 23: MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, on Tuesday inaugurated lane and drain works in Ward No. 24, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the local residents. The development initiative is aimed at improving sanitation, drainage, and overall civic infrastructure in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said that the work was started in keeping with the commitments he had made to the people during his interactions with them. He added that development at the grassroots level remains his top priority.
The MLA stated that proper drainage and well-constructed lanes are essential for preventing water logging, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a better quality of life for residents.
He assured the public that similar development works would be taken up in other parts of Jammu West in a phased manner, keeping in view the needs and demands of the people.
Arvind Gupta also appealed to residents to cooperate with the executing agencies so that the work could be completed within the stipulated time frame and to the desired quality standards.
He reiterated his commitment to transparent governance and accountable use of public funds.
Former corporator, Anu Bali, Mandal president, Kushyant Prajapati, senior leader, Atul Bakshi, Mandal general secretary, Mohit Vaid, and senior leader, Vinoo Khanna, Sanjeev Sharma, Rekha Sharma, Sudesh Gupta, Amreek Singh, Bhuvnesh Gupta, Arti Khajuria, Pardeep Sharma, Sonu Manhas, Indresh, Pawan, Kaka, and several others were present during the inauguration.
Residents expressed satisfaction over the commencement of the works and hoped that the project would bring long-term relief from drainage problems and improve the overall living conditions in the area.
