Shameema felicitates new office bearer

JAMMU, Dec 18: A meeting of Pradesh Mahila Congress was held at PCC office here today where in newly appointed senior vice president Pradesh Mahila Congress Inderjeet Kour was felicitated.
Raman Bhalla former Minister and working president JKPCC was the chief guest, while the meeting presided over by Shameema Raina president Pradesh Mahila Congress.
Speaking on the occasion Bhalla congratulated to Inderjeet Kaur Randhawa on being appointed as senior vice-president, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Mahila Congress. This well-deserved responsibility reflects her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the Congress party and women’s empowerment, Bhalla wished her great success in this new role and expressed confident that her experience will further strengthen the organization in Jammu & Kashmir.
JKPCC working president Raman Bhalla recalled that it was the Congress Party which brought 33 per cent reservation for women in Panchayati Raj Institutions, enabling lakhs of women across the country to enter grassroots governance and decision-making. He said landmark legislations such as the Dowry Prohibition Act, Equal Remuneration Act, Domestic Violence Act, and maternity benefits were outcomes of Congress’s progressive vision, aimed at ensuring dignity, safety and equality for women.
Highlighting economic empowerment, Bhalla said Congress Governments consistently focused on women-centric welfare by strengthening Self Help Groups, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and introducing schemes that enhanced women’s financial independence. He added that the Congress continues to advocate for stronger representation of women in Parliament and Assemblies, and has proposed concrete guarantees like direct financial support and increased job opportunities for women, reflecting its people-centric ideology.
Shameema Raina put strong emphasis over rejuvenating the organization at booth level and urged Mahila Congress workers to get connected with the people at grass root level ensuring that people’s problems are highlighted for resolution. She also urged the newly appointed senior vice president Inderjeet Kour Randawa to work shoulder to shoulder with parent body and other frontal organizations as Mahila Congress is an important part of Congress Party which has always remained at the forefront to contribute towards serving people and strengthening the party.
Santosh Manhas and Praveen Akhtar- vice presidents, Shoba Sharma district president Reasi, Kousar Jan district president Poonch, Shahnaz general secretary, Dwarka Choudhary (Ex-Corporator), RS Randhawa, Vijayat Pathania also spoke in the meeting.
