JAMMU, Dec 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Level Bankers’ Committee (J&K UTLBC) will organise mega facilitation camps in Udhampur and Samba districts on December 19 to help people trace and claim their unclaimed financial assets.
A statement said the camps will be held under the nationwide campaign “Apki Poonji, Apka Adhikar – Your Money, Your Right.”
In Udhampur, the camp will take place at the Conference Hall, DC Office, at 11.30 am. The Samba camp will be held at the Municipal Council Hall, Vijaypur, at 12.30 pm, the statement said.
The objective of these camps is to create awareness about unclaimed money and help resolve long-pending cases, the statement further said.
People can get on-the-spot assistance for claims related to unclaimed bank deposits, insurance money, mutual funds, dividends, shares and other financial assets.
Representatives from major banks, insurance companies and regulatory bodies such as SEBI, EPFO, PFRDA and the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) will be present to guide and assist the public.
Members of Parliament, MLAs and senior district administration officials have also been invited to attend the camps to ensure wider outreach and smooth facilitation.
During the programme, cheques for successfully claimed amounts will be handed over to the rightful owners, highlighting the commitment of financial institutions towards transparency and customer welfare.
The general public has been urged to attend these camps in large numbers and make use of this opportunity to claim their rightful money.
