JAMMU, Dec17: With the aim of reviving Dogri folk and traditional art forms, Samooh Theatre organised a cultural show at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. Priya Sethi, Former Cultural Minister of J&K, graced the occasion as chief guest and emphasized the need to preserve intangible heritage for present and future generations. Rajesh Gupta, President of JKNOPRF, was also present.
The programme featured soulful performances including Bhakh by Lal Singh and party, Karkan by Suresh Kumar Jogi, Jagrana by Veena Kumari, Suhag and Ghodian by Kamli Devi and Jatar folk by Mohan Lal. Solo dances were performed by Mamta Malik and Priya Sharma, while Mannat Bhahu, Dazy Singh, Amrita Singh and Chaya Sharma presented duet Dogri folk dances.
The children’s play Gatt, written and directed by Dr Sudhir Mahajan, added a vibrant touch to the festival. Anita Chandpuri presented the vote of thanks.
