JAMMU, Dec 16: In a historic first, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah made an early-morning visit to the prestigious Amar Singh Club in Jammu.
The CM congratulated the newly elected executive committee of the Club and its honorary secretary Vijay Saraf, following the recently concluded Club Management Committee elections.
As the president of Amar Singh Club, Omar personally engaged with the newly appointed team, extending his best wishes for a tenure marked by transparency, progress, and member-focused initiatives. Vijay Saraf, who secured the highest number of votes in the elections, received special recognition for earning the confidence of the Club’s membership.
Addressing the gathering, the CM remarked, “Amar Singh Club is a legacy institution with a proud history. I am pleased to witness a committed and capable executive committee taking charge. I am confident that the new leadership, under Vijay Saraf, will further elevate the Club’s standards, facilities, and services while preserving its rich traditions.”
During the visit, the CM spent significant time at the Club premises, utilizing the gym facilities alongside members, engaging in informal discussions, and acknowledging the Club’s contribution in promoting health, sports culture, and community bonding.
This occasion is particularly notable as it represents the first instance in the Club’s history when a sitting CM personally visited to engage with the new team and actively experience its facilities.
The CM highlighted the importance of discipline, unity, and visionary leadership in strengthening the institution, expressing confidence that the executive committee under Vijay Saraf would prioritize the enhancement of infrastructure, services, and overall member welfare.
