POONCH, Aug 28: Trade worth Rs 2.28 crore was witnessed at Chakkan-da-Bagh cross LoC point in district Poonch today.
Official sources said that a total 16 trucks loaded with almonds, dry dates and herbs arrived here from PoK side. The value of goods was put at around Rs 1.75 crore. Nine-truck goods worth Rs 53 lakh, including bananas, chilies, `Zeera’ etc were sent to PoK by the traders from Poonch area. The trade has started picking up at this LoC point despite tension along border in Jammu sector for the last few weeks.
