SRINAGAR, Dec 13: BJP Minority Morcha, president Ranjodh Singh Nalwa today said that his party is committed to inclusive development, peace, and prosperity for all sections of society in Jammu and Kashmir.
Interacting with members of Minority Morcha and other prominent people of the Valley here during his maiden visit to Kashmir after becoming president of Morcha, he stated that minorities have always been an integral part of the nation’s growth and their welfare remains a priority for the BJP-led Government.
Hitting out at the National Conference (NC) Government, Nalwa accused it of backtracking on the promises made to innocent people during elections.
He alleged that the NC has failed to fulfil key manifesto commitments, including free LPG cylinders, free electricity and other welfare assurances, thereby betraying the trust of the common people.
He further alleged that ordinary citizens, particularly poor and marginalised communities, are suffering due to the government’s lack of seriousness and accountability.
Unfulfilling welfare schemes, he said, have exposed the hollow claims of the NC leadership. Nalwa asserted that governance should be about service and delivery, not political rhetoric.
He reminded that Omar Abdullah had publicly stated that he would not contest elections until Statehood was restored, but later went back on his word.
“This clearly shows that the NC leadership is concerned only about power and the chair, not about the promises made to the people,” Nalwa said.
Highlighting the initiatives of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Nalwa praised the Centre’s people-centric policies aimed at uplifting the poor, minorities, women, and youth. He said schemes such as free ration under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana for LPG connections, Ayushman Bharat health coverage, PM Awas Yojana, have transformed the lives of crores of citizens, including those in Jammu and Kashmir.
General secretary J&K Minority Morcha, Imtyaz Bhat, its, Amarjit Singh, media in charge, Sajid Yousaf, Social Media co-incharge, Sajad Raina, district president, Jammu South Minority Morcha, Gurdeep Singh and other party workers were present on the occasion.
