TIRUMALA, Dec 12: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has begun extensive arrangements to provide hygienic and high-quality Annaprasadam to devotees across all its temples, following the directions of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Preparations are underway to introduce free Annaprasadam distribution in 60 TTD-run temples across the state, under the supervision of TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal.
TTD first began free Annaprasadam distribution on April 0 6, 1985, serving about 2,000 devotees a day under the SV Nitya Prasadam Scheme, inaugurated by then Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao.
The Sri Venkateswara Nitya Annadanam Trust was formed on April 1, 1994, later renamed in 2014 as the Sri Venkateswara Annaprasadam Trust.
Since July 7, 2011, Annaprasadam has been distributed at the modern Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex (MTVAC) in Tirumala, inaugurated by then President Pratibha Patil.
As of November 15, 2025, TTD trust holds Rs2,316 crore in fixed deposits.
In Tirumala, Annaprasadam is served at multiple locations including Rambageecha Bus Stand, ANC, CRO, food counters, PAC-1/2/4/5 halls, Vaikuntham Queue Complexes 1 & 2, Narayana Giri sheds, outer queue lines, and the MTVAC.
On regular days, 1.80 lakh to 1.90 lakh devotees receive Annaprasadam in Tirumala. During weekends, the number climbs to 2-2.10 lakh. On special occasions like New Year, Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Rathasapthami, and Garuda Seva, the count crosses 2 lakh.
In Tirupati, distribution takes place at Tiruchanoor Annpraprasadam Centre, Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Srinivasam, Vishnu Nivasam, local hospitals, Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, and Vontimitta. Daily beneficiaries range from 15,000 to16,000, while on weekends their numbers go upto to around 20,000.
