RAJOURI, Dec 11: Police Station Nowshera has registered three FIRs against shop owners who rented out their premises to non-local individuals without completing the mandatory tenant verification process.
The owners had allowed people from outside the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir to stay in their premises without following the compulsory verification procedure mandated by the District Magistrate, Rajouri.
In this regard, FIR No. 186/2025, FIR No. 187/2025, and FIR No. 188/2025 under Section 223 of the BNS have been registered at Police Station Nowshera.
SDPO Nowshera Sahil Mahajan and SHO, Inspector Arjun Mangotra have appealed to the general public to strictly adhere to the tenant verification guidelines. They warned that any violation will invite strict legal action.
