SRINAGAR, Dec 11: Police today launched a comprehensive verification drive across hotels and lodging establishments in Pahalgam in Anantnag district following the recent deportation of a Chinese tourist for visa violations.
Hu Congtai, a Chinese national, had entered Ladakh and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir in breach of visa regulations and was deported to Hong Kong.
During the drive, police instructed hotel owners and managers to strictly verify the identity and documentation of all guests, including Indian nationals, at the time of check-in. They said that maintaining complete and accurate records is crucial for both security and regulatory compliance.
