2 shops gutted at Kheora

RAJOURI, Dec 10: Two shops were gutted in a fire that broke out around midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday in Kheora area of Rajouri town.
Local residents said that the fire started from the vegetable shop of Shahbaz Malik, son of Tufail Hussain, a resident of Gambhir Mughlan, Manjakot, currently residing in Ward No. 17, Kheora. By the time the fire was brought under control, it had also engulfed an adjoining scrap shop belonging to a person named Javed Iqbal.
It is believed that the fire started due to a electrical short- circuit and it quickly spread. The Fire and Emergency Services staff was immediately informed, and local residents also began efforts to control the fire.
By the time the fire tenders arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control, both shops were completely destroyed.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation. The loss of property was being ascertained.
