THANNAMANDI, Dec 10: In a major step toward strengthening the educational infrastructure of the region, MLA Thannamandi Muzaffar Iqbal Khan today laid the foundation stone for a new building at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Thannamandi, sanctioned at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore under the UT Capex Budget.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome by the Principal BHSS Thannamandi Jawaid Iqbal Raina , ZPEO Thannamandi Saleem Naushad Raina, AEE Rana Iqbal Ahmed, J.E Arshad Khan, school staff, students, prominent citizens, and local residents were also present on the occasion.
After laying the foundation stone, MLA Muzaffar Iqbal Khan highlighted the historical significance of BHSS Thannamandi, calling it an institution with a proud legacy that has produced numerous scholars, officers, and respected personalities who have contributed immensely to the region’s growth. He said the Government is committed to strengthening educational facilities across the constituency, and BHSS Thannamandi remains a top priority due to its academic stature and increasing student enrollment.
“Education is the backbone of our society, and providing modern, well-equipped infrastructure to our students is both a moral and administrative responsibility. This new building will not only address space shortages but will also create new opportunities for academic excellence and co-curricular development. Our aim is to ensure that institutions like BHSS Thannamandi match contemporary standards and fulfill the aspirations of our young generation,” Khan said.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal BHSS Thannamandi, Jawaid Iqbal Raina, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MLA and the Government for fulfilling a long-pending demand of the school. He said the new building will significantly strengthen the infrastructure and benefit students from the far-flung areas who rely on BHSS Thannamandi for quality education.
“BHSS Thannamandi caters to a large number of students, many of whom come from remote areas. Enhanced infrastructure is essential to support their academic aspirations. The upcoming building will provide additional classrooms, improved facilities, and a better learning environment. We remain committed to ensuring academic excellence and holistic development of our students.”
