According to Sandeep Sharma, District Nodal Officer, a detailed review of the Smart Attendance App showed that 55 teaching staff remained absent from December 3 to December 8, 2025. Their prolonged absence has negatively affected the educational environment, delaying syllabus completion and hampering the learning outcomes of students.
The Nodal Officer further noted that the absence of Lecturers poses a major setback for JKBOSE students who rely heavily on them for subject completion and exam preparation.
Following the submission of this report, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri issued directions to the Chief Education Officer to take immediate action and furnish a compliance report.
CEO Rajouri, Mohammad Hafiz, while speaking on the matter, said that directions have been issued to all DDOs to proceed against the absentees without delay. He added that action has already been taken against those found absent, and several staff members have been suspended for dereliction of duty. He emphasised that no negligence affecting students’ education will be tolerated.
