KISHTWAR, Dec 9: District Police Kishtwar apprehended a drug peddler and recovered a heroin-like substance during routine checking at Shalimar Naka.
A police team from Police Station Kishtwar, led by SHO Inspector Firdous Ahmed and assisted by senior officers, intercepted a truck (JK17A-1785) during naka duty. During the inspection, a person travelling in the vehicle’s cabin-identified as Amrit Kumar, son of Peyare Lal, resident of Lower Poochal-was found in possession of approximately 12-13 grams of heroin-like substance.
A case FIR Number 253/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and identify others involved in the drug network.
