Govt ignoring displaced Pandits’ plight: AIMCCC

JAMMU, Dec 7: All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) today organized General Body meeting at Jagti Township under the chairmanship of B K Raina its chairman.
The meeting discussed burning demands of the community and passed a resolution demanding their immediate settlement.
The resolution demanded enhancement of cash assistance in favour of relief holders, minority status to Kashmiri Pandit community, probe into genocide of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) and seperate budget for displaced KP community during exile.
It also demanded healing touch to educated over-aged unemployed youth, implementation of Central sponsored schemes on displaced Kashmiri Pandit community such as Kisan Nidhi Yojna etc., one job to one displaced family,
release of balance ex gratia and release of encroached land of displaced persons.
Besides B K Raina, the meeting was addressed by Desh Rattan Pandita, P N Jalali, S N Gurtoo, Virender Raina, S K Koul, Chand Ji Khair, Bharat Bushan Bhat, Anil Bali, Mela Misri, Ashok Raina and Dileep Pandita.
The meeting expressed grave concern over Government’s stoic silence over the demands of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits including their honourable and dignified return to their homeland.
The meeting said that how long the KPs will face this turmoil and the Government should take concrete steps in resettling them in their homeland.
