SRINAGAR, Dec 6: Students of Cluster University Srinagar today staged a protest, alleging that academic decisions concerning the first and fifth semesters have caused confusion and disrupted their studies.
The students claimed that abrupt changes and “poor communication” from the university administration have thrown academic schedules into “disarray,” leaving them uncertain about examinations, coursework, and timelines. Assembled inside the Amar Singh College campus, the students demanded transparent and student-friendly academic management.
“They are not conducting exams on time. They are telling us to appear in the exams early. We want it to be conducted on time, what is wrong in that?” asked one student.
Another added, “They want to complete the six-month course in two months; how is that possible?”

They alleged that key modifications were introduced without prior notice or proper explanation, making students face difficulties. Several students voiced concerns about incomplete syllabi and unheeded complaints.
“Officials are not listening to us; they are saying that they will give relaxation, but that will not help us,” a student said.
“There are several subjects where the syllabus is incomplete. We have complained, but nothing has happened.”
The protesting students called for greater accountability from the administration and insisted that policy decisions be taken in consultation with students rather than imposed unilaterally.
They warned that the prevailing uncertainty could lead to lasting academic setbacks if not addressed promptly, “particularly for students in critical semesters that influence their academic progression.”
The students urged university authorities to speak with them and issue clear, written notifications to resolve the matter at the earliest.
