Police nabs 2 with narcotic stuff

RAJOURI, Dec 2: The police arrested two persons and recovered some quantity of narcotic substance from their possession in Rajouri area today.
Official sources said that a police party from Rajouri City Station during routine patrolling on ITI Road, noticed two individuals coming from the Women Police Station side towards Malik Market, who attempted to flee on seeing the police. The alert police team immediately apprehended them for checking.
On questioning, they disclosed their identity as Layaqit Ali, son of Mohammed Misher and Ashfaq Ahmed, son of Wazir Mohd, both residents of Chambi Trar in Rajouri. During their personal search, the police recovered one black coloured polythene containing some narcotic substance/ heroin weighing approximately 5 gms and charas, weighing about 35 grams from their possession.
In this connection an FIR No. 583/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri and further investigation is underway.
The forward and backward linkages of the accused will be thoroughly probed to identify their associates and sources of procurement, police said.
