UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: The police seized a vehicle, loaded with six bovine animals and arrested an accused in this connection in Chenani area of Udhampur last night.
Reports said a team from Police Station Chenani during routine checking at Motor Shed Naka intercepted a Mahindra Bolero Pick-Up vehicle, bearing registration number JK19A-2864, driven by Rayaz Ahmed Sohil, son of Ghulam Nabi Sohil, hailing from Zanchous, Chacknarwah, Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban. He was moving from Udhampur towards Kashmir.
During checking, six bovines were found illegally loaded in the vehicle without any valid permission. The cattle were tied very badly in the vehicle.
All the bovines were rescued and seized and the accused was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, an FIR No. 125/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation is underway.
