SAMBA, Dec 1: Police in Vijaypur area of this district today claimed they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered approximately 4.15 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
Acting on a tip off, a special naka was placed at Rakh Barotian near AIIMS residential complex, Vijaypur, and a suspicious individual was intercepted, officials said.
On his search, they said, approximately 4.15 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered.
Accordingly, the accused, identified as Deeraj Sharma of Jib, Tehsil and District Udhampur, was arrested and booked in case FIR number 136/2025 under sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Vijaypur and further investigation taken up, officials added.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas
