JAMMU, Nov 29: A 12th standard student apparently ended her life by hanging from the ceiling fan at her residence at Talab Tillo area here, police said.
The family members of Falak Kashyap (17) daughter of Bharat Kashyap of House number 109, Raju Lane, Talab Tillo, noticed the latter hanging inside her room early morning today and informed the police, they said.
Accordingly, they said, a team from Police Post Talab Tillo reached the spot and shifted her to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
While the body has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination, police have initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the reasons as to why the teenager took such an extreme step to end her life.
