JAMMU, Nov 29: MLA Jammu West Arvind Gupta today inaugurated the newly constructed Chopra Nursing Home gate and an internal ring road at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, a key infrastructure project built at a cost of Rs 2.43 crore.
The new route has been opened for ambulance movement, providing faster access to emergency services and reducing delays caused by heavy congestion in the Bakshi Nagar area.
The dedicated entry will help critical patients reach GMC Jammu more quickly, especially during peak traffic hours.
The upgraded connectivity is also expected to ease pressure on existing routes, streamline medical response times, and improve movement for both hospital authorities and the public.
Speaking at the inauguration, Arvind Gupta said the project reflects ongoing efforts to improve civic and health infrastructure in Jammu West.
He said that better road connectivity around GMC Jammu will not only reduce traffic jams but also support faster and safer patient transportation.
Senior officials, including the Principal and Dean of GMC Jammu, Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Medical Superintendents of all four hospitals, Heads of Departments, and faculty members, attended the event.
The project was executed by the Public Works Department. PWD XEN Sandeep Mahajan and his team received appreciation for completing the work on time and maintaining quality standards.
Arvind Gupta lauded the PWD for delivering a long-pending project that will benefit residents, commuters, and the medical community.
