RAJOURI, Nov 29: A road accident at Behrote in Thannamandi, left three individuals seriously injured on Saturday.
Reports said the mishap took place when a motorcycle, moving from Rajouri to Thannamandi, hit a pedestrian. The bike bearing registration number JK11B-4980, was being driven by Maroof Alam (28), son of Mohd Alam, resident of Manyal, Thannamandi. Mohd Shafayat (24), son of Mohd Farooq, also from Manyal, was pillion-rider with him.
Upon reaching Behrote, the motorcycle struck a pedestrian identified as Shokat (19), son of Mohd Sageer, resident of Khablan, Thannamandi. The impact resulted in serious injuries to all the three individuals.
Local residents immediately rushed the injured to Thannamandi Hospital, where attending medical officer Dr Sagheer Anjum, Zonal Medical Officer (ZMO), provided first- aid. Dr Anjum told that all the three were later referred to GMC Rajouri for specialised treatment due to the severity of their injuries.
He further informed that one Abdul Hamid (70 Yrs), son of Abdullah Mir, resident of Khablan, who was injured in a separate motorcycle accident, was also referred to GMC Rajouri for further medical treatment.
