Leh inquiry deadline extended to Dec 8 after Apex Body’s request

Leh, Nov 28: The deadline for the Judicial Inquiry Commission, originally set for today, has been extended to December 8 following a request by the Leh Apex Body.
In this regard, the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) and Leh Apex Body held a press conference, urging the public to come forward with evidence and video footage related to the September 24 incident, assuring that submissions may be made without hesitation or fear. They also promised to extend support to anyone who may require assistance during the process.

An extension order issued by Mohan Singh Parihar, (Retd District & Sessions Judge) Judicial Secretary to the Inquiry Commission at Leh, reads, “On 27th November 2025, a written request has been received from Co-Chairman Apex Body Leh for extending the date for the submission of statements by the persons who want to submit their statements before the Inquiry Commission.”
The order further notes that the request was placed before Justice Dr. B.S. Chauhan, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, through virtual mode for consideration. After review, Justice Chauhan approved the request, granting an additional ten days, up to 8 December 2025, for submission of statements and evidence by individuals acquainted with the matter under inquiry.
