Theft case worked out; accused held, stolen property recovered

JAMMU, Nov 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police have worked out a theft case registered at Police Station Bus Stand by arresting one individual and recovering the stolen property from his possession.
A police official said during the investigation of a case FIR number 66/2025 registered under sections 305(a), 331(3) BNS at Police Station Bus Stand on November 2, 2025, one suspect, identified as Hamid Parvez of Tund Hidyal of Tehsil and District Kishtwar was detained for questioning.
During detailed questioning coupled with technical analysis and continuous follow-ups, the involvement of the suspect was conclusively established, resulting in his arrest, he said.
Based on the disclosures made by the accused during interrogation, the investigation team conducted multiple raids at different locations and recovered the stolen items, including a refrigerator, 4 gas cylinders, 2 geysers, one induction, one inverter, and a gas stove, added the police official.
According to him, further investigation in the case is underway to ascertain the involvement of any other persons and to effect additional recoveries.
