Vehicles worth Rs 30 lakh of bovine smugglers attached

RAMBAN, Nov 27: Police here today under the supervision of SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta attached vehicles worth about Rs. 30 lakh of three bovine smugglers under Section 107 of BNSS.
The action stems from the investigation of FIR No. 181/2025, registered under Section 223 of BNS and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. During probe, Police discovered that the accused persons had amassed disproportionate assets derived from sustained bovine smuggling activities.
Investigators confirmed that three vehicles purchased by the accused were directly linked to proceeds of crime.
Acting on the findings, Ramban Police sought and obtained attachment orders from the competent court. The attachment proceedings were carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.
According to officials, vehicle with registration number JK19A-4677, owned by Arbaz Khan, son of Mohammad Shafi, resident of Chamba Seri, Ramban; vehicle with registration number JK19A-5274, owned by Parvez Khan, son of Mohammad Shafi, resident of Chamba Seri, Ramban and vehicle with registration number JK19A-1274, owned by Mohammad Shafi, son of Wazir Khan, resident of Chamba Seri, Ramban having market value of Rs. 30 lakh, were attached.
