JAMMU, Nov 24: A delegation of the All India Registered Nurses Federation (AIRNF), Jammu & Kashmir committee, today met Health Minister Sakina Itoo at Civil Secretariat Jammu and submitted two representations regarding demands of nurses across the Union Territory.
The delegation was led by Vishav Sharma, State President AIRNF J&K, along with senior members of the Federation. The delegation apprised the Minister about the urgent need for rectification of the entry pay scales of nurses in J&K to bring them at par with other states and UTs, the change in nomenclature of nurses, and adoption of the new standardized nomenclature as notified by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
They also emphasized the grant of all genuine allowances including Nursing Allowance and Dress Allowance already implemented in UT Ladakh since 2021. The need for expediting recruitment of nursing staff across healthcare institutions of the UT was also strongly highlighted.
The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that all genuine demands will be forwarded to the Health Secretary and thereafter to the Finance Department for necessary examination and appropriate consideration.
