Director Tourism tours Bhaderwah to review ongoing projects

JAMMU, Nov 24: Director Tourism Jammu Dr. Vikas Gupta, conducted a two days tour of Doda and Bhaderwah to review the tourism infrastructure and other developmental works across key tourism locations in the region.
He inspected various tourism assets of the Directorate of Tourism and Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) and issued on-spot directions to the concerned officers for expediting the process of outsourcing these assets to enhance visitor facilities and ensure optimal utilisation.
Later, he conducted an interactive meeting with local stakeholders. Representatives from the hospitality sector, travel operators, adventure groups and civil society shared their suggestions and concerns. He assured them of timely redressal of issues and reiterated the department’s commitment to collaborative growth and development.
He also visited Guldanda, a prominent adventure and leisure attraction, and assessed the feasibility of infrastructure expansion. He subsequently held a meeting with officers of the Forest Department and instructed them to ensure timely completion of Eco-Bio Public Conveniences at the site.
He further paid a visit to the historic Gupt Ganga Temple, a revered spiritual site and reviewed the scope for development of additional pilgrim and tourist amenities in the vicinity.
Additionally, he held a detailed meeting with Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, along with officers from concerned departments. The meeting focused on accelerating ongoing tourism projects and finalising upcoming interventions and promotional events planned for Bhaderwah in the coming months.
Speaking to the media, he said that, as per the directions of the Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism Department, Ashish Chander Verma, the department is committed to developing quality infrastructure, enhancing services, and ensuring memorable experiences for tourists. He added that focused promotion and publicity, improved connectivity and the timely completion of key tourism projects remain top priorities for the department.
Accompanying him during the visit were officers and officials of the department, including Assistant Director Tourism (NHW), Arif Lone and Assistant Director Tourism Jammu, Vishal Sadhotra.
