DODA, Nov 22: Dy. Inspector General of Police, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Shridhar Patil, paid an official visit to district Doda and chaired a comprehensive crime and security review meeting, here today.
The meeting was attended by all supervisory officers and SHOs of the district.
During the meeting, SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, briefed the DIG-P on the overall crime /security scenario of the district.
While reviewing the data, the DIG-P emphasized the need for expeditious disposal of cases under investigation, including backlog cases, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders, tracing of missing persons, disposal of complaints and online grievances and overall reduction of crime pendency.
Patil urged officers to adopt a mission-mode approach for eradicating the menace of drugs.
He stressed identifying both backward and forward links of individuals involved in drug trafficking to dismantle the entire network and ensure a drug-free society.
Regarding theft and burglary cases, the DIG directed officers to make focused efforts, examine all aspects of investigations in time line manner fixed under NCL, work out pending cases and ensure recovery of stolen property.
He further instructed supervisory officers and SHOs to launch a special drive to curb traffic violations, particularly ensuring installation mandatory safety equipment in vehicles as per relevant guidelines.
The DIG also instructed for regular review and categorization of history-sheeters, OGWs and other suspects, along with identification of new troublemakers based on analysis of their records.
Patil reviewed the overall security scenario of the district in a joint meeting attended by officers from the Army, CAPF and other sister agencies.
He assessed the operational preparedness of all forces and reiterated that coordinated efforts must continue to completely eliminate terror infrastructure from the district.
Later, the DIGP paid a visit to Police Public School, DPL Doda, review working of the school, besides interacted with the staff and issued necessary directions.
Patil also held a public meeting which witnessed participation from several respectable citizens of Doda town and adjoining areas.
The participants projected various grievances, which were patiently heard by the DIG.
The DIG issued necessary on-spot directions for the redressal of public issues.
