KATHUA, Nov 22: Kathua police rescued 10 bovines from NHW Rajbagh area, and arrested two persons besides seizing one Truck involved in smuggling of animals.
Police said on Friday a team of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh led by SHO Rajbagh Inspector, Ajay Singh Chib under the guidance of SP Ops Kathua Mukund Tibrewal and SDPO Border Dheeraj Katoch during naka/ checking at NHW Rajbagh area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle (Truck) bearing Registration Number HP94A-2987 driven by Balshan Kumar son of Surinder Kumar of Mukerian Hoshiarpur Punjab and his accomplice namely Mohd Yaseen Khan son of Parvez Ahmed Khan of Satirmaidan Gopalpora Mattan Anantnag J&K enrouted from Punjab towards Jammu.
Police said during the checking of the vehicle, total 10 Bovines (07 cows and 03 calves ) were found loaded in the vehicles mercilessly which were rescued, two persons were arrested and the truck was seized on spot. On this, an instant case has been registered at PS Rajbagh vide FIR No. 224/2025 U/S 223/BNS 11 PCA while further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.
