Lohai people to start hunger strike from Nov 24 for justice in triple murder case

KATHUA, Nov 22: The residents of Machhedi, Lohai, Kund and Billawar near here organised a candle march protest demanding proper investigation into Ishu Nullah murder case in which three persons including a minor were murdered and their bodies were found in Ishu nullah after four days of their missing.
The residents of Billawar and Lohai Malhar block along with family members of the deceased persons assembled at Billawar and took out a candle march carrying the banner with slogans demanding justice.
The protesters claimed that despite the passing of eight month, Police has failed to come up with the cause of death and family members of the deceased persons are still waiting for justice.
Sources informed that demanding some positive response from Police and Special Investigation Team, the family members of the deceased persons have decided to start indefinite hunger strike from November 24 at Billawar.
The protesters said that they will start indefinite hunger strike if justice is not delivered to the family members of the deceased persons.
A family member, Chamail Singh of village Kund, Lohai said that three of his family members including Varun, Jogesh and Darshan Singh went missing on March 5 after leaving for a marriage party but did not reached at their destination and after four days on March 8 their bodies were found in Inshu Nullah under mysterious circumstances.
He said that those missing persons were murdered allegedly by anti-social elements active in the area.
“It is very shocking that even after eight months the SIT and even Police has not disclosed the postpartum report,” the protesters said demanding investigation from CBI or NIA.
