SRINAGAR, July 17: The 12th Five year plan (2012-17) for Industries and Commerce Department has been projected at Rs1475 crore against Rs. 463 crore antipated expenditure during the 11th plan (2007-2012) which is 3.27 times high. The annual plan for the current financial year will be of the order of over Rs. 127 crore against last year’s Rs. 125.16 crore approved plan outlay.
This was stated at a meeting of the officers of Industries and Commerce Department convened here today to discuss the current year’s Annual plan for the department. Minister for Industries and commerce, Surjit Singh Slathia presided.
The Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce Shantmanu, heads of various departments and public sector undertakings under the administrative control of the Industries and Commerce Department were present in the meeting.
While reviewing the department wise performance, Mr. Slathia enjoined upon the officers to utilize 100% funds, earmarked for various schemes, adding that utilization certificates should be submitted timely to get release of more funds. He also called for formulating economically viable and technically feasible schemes that would benefit the people as per their expectations. He said that good performers in the department will be rewarded whereas deadwood will have to go. He said that faulty planning in past has caused great loss to the public money which will not be allowed to happen now.
