UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: Police in Udhampur’s Khoon area today claimed they have arrested one individual and rescued eight animals he was transporting illegally.
During routine naka checking, a team of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO concerned, Abdul Sattar, intercepted at vehicle (JK02DE-5297) at Khoon area, a police official said.
On search of the vehicle, he said, 8 animals crammed inside it in a cruel manner were released by the police party.
Accordingly, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Shokat Ali of Panjgrain, Jammu, was arrested and booked in case FIR number 94/2025 under section 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation taken up, said the police official.
