JAMMU, Nov 20: Tstop Pitchers, a dynamic youth-led team from Jammu, has earned a coveted spot among the Top 10 global finalists for the 48-hour CinemaAI Hackathon at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
The groundbreaking event, organized by NFDC, LTIMindtree, and the WAVES Film Bazaar, is one of the world’s first competitive arenas dedicated to AI-powered filmmaking.
The team-comprising Bharat Arora (team lead), Rakesh Bakshi (photojournalist at Daily Excelsior), Raji Singh and Pardeep Sharma-secured their selection with ‘FAIZ’, an AI-generated concept film that stood out in the global pool of entries. Their shortlisting marks a significant achievement for creative talent emerging from Jammu.
The virtual hackathon began at 4 PM today (November 20) and will run until 4 PM of November 22. During this intense 48-hour window, each team must conceptualize, script, produce, and edit a 1-2 minute AI-generated film based on a theme revealed on November 19. The challenge aims to push the boundaries of storytelling and production through the innovative use of artificial intelligence.
Participants will compete across multiple award categories, including the Grand Prize for Best AI Film (Rs 4,00,000), Most Innovative Use of AI (Rs 2,00,000), Best Storytelling (Rs 1,00,000), Best Visuals (Rs 1,00,000) and Best Sound/Music Design (Rs 1,00,000).
Winners will be declared on November 24 at the Waves Film Bazaar awards ceremony, with the winning films premiering on November 26 at IFFI Goa and featured across LTIMindtree and NFDC platforms-offering global exposure to the storytellers shaping the future of AI cinema.
