A statement issued by the CBK said that the charge sheet was filed in FIR No. 87/2022 under Sections 209, 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar.
The charge sheet names six individuals as accused – Pathan Majid Ahmad Khan of Takia Khan, Sopore; Mushtaq Ahmad Rather of Ali Bagh Hygam, Sopore; Mudasir Yousuf Wani of Tujjar Sharief, Sopore; Ghulam Mohammad Reshi of Yamberzal Wani (Harda-Shiva), Sopore; Bashir Ahmad Dar of Bonpora, Nowpora Sopore; and Anoop Mishra of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, currently residing near the DC Office in Jammu.
The case originated from a communication regarding suspected tampering of official documents submitted before the CAT in TA No. 4100/2021 by the office of the Chief Horticulture Officer. Investigation revealed that records submitted to CAT Srinagar were unlawfully altered while in its custody.
The prime accused, Pathan Majid Ahmad Khan, in criminal conspiracy with CAT employee Anoop Mishra and other beneficiary employees, allegedly made unauthorized insertions in records related to their regularisation in the Horticulture Department.
Investigators recovered at least 12 official seals from various departments, including the Director of Horticulture, BDOs, Tehsildars, ZEOs, principals, and headmasters, from Khan’s residence.
“Call Detail Records and WhatsApp communications seized from the accused corroborated the conspiracy and criminal breach of trust by Anoop Mishra. The charge sheet has now been submitted before the Court for judicial determination.”
