Doda, Nov 18: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of the under-construction 132 KV Khellani-Changa Transmission Line and Grid Sub-Station Changa (Bhaderwah).
The meeting witnessed the participation of ACR Doda Ashraf Pervez, CPO Doda Manesh Kumar Manhas,senior officers from JKPTCL, JPDCL, PGCIL, the Revenue Department, and the Army, who attended both in person and virtually.
The DC highlighted the significance of this strategic power project, noting that it plays a crucial role in strengthening the electricity network and improving power reliability across the district.
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the current status of tower erection, stringing activities, forest clearance, land acquisition, and the availability of materials. He stressed the importance of expediting the resolution of all pending bottlenecks, including Right of Way (ROW) issues, to avoid any further delays.
The DC interacted with the SDMs of concerned jurisdictions to obtain ground-level updates on strategic projects and directed them to ensure close departmental coordination for timely execution.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed the Executive Engineer JPDCL Doda to submit a consolidated progress report and share updated project details with all concerned departments before the next review. He urged all stakeholders to initiate and accelerate execution works immediately, especially in view of the ongoing winter season, to prevent any potential electricity shortages or power disruptions. The DC emphasised that uninterrupted power supply to the region depends on the timely completion of this vital project.
To ensure continuous power during the winter, the DC directed the XEN PDD to take all necessary measures for maintaining smooth and reliable electricity supply. The meeting concluded with clear directions for weekly monitoring, field verification, and proactive issue resolution to ensure steady progress and timely completion of the 132 KV Khellani-Changa transmission project.
