KATHUA, Nov 17: Kathua police recovered 13 bottles of Illicit liquor (XXX Rum) from his possession in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Billawar.
Police said a team of PS Billawar led by SHO PS Billawar, Inspector, Zaheer Mushtaq under the guidance of SDPO Billawar, Neeraj Padyar
established naka for checking and frisking of vehicles in its jurisdictional area.
It said during checking on suspicious grounds it stopped one person having a bag in his hand coming from Billawar towards Sukrala side. To evade checking he tried to escape from the spot, but the police team chased and apprehended him. While questioning he disclosed his name as Baldev Singh, son of Hukum Chand of Sadrota Orha Raya Sial tehsil Lohai Malhar district, Kathua. During the checking of bag 13 Bottles of XXX Rum (750/750 ml each) has been recovered from his possession.
Police said in this regard a case FIR Number 170/2025 U/S 48(a)/Excise Act stands registered at this PS Billawar, further investigation is going on.
