Programmes to commemorate 150 yrs of ‘Vande Mataram’ held

JAMMU, Nov 16: Different organisations here today organised programmes to commemorate 150 yrs of ‘Vande Mataram’
BJP vice president and former Minister, Priya Sethi described the Vande Mataram programme to commemorate 150 years of the National Song in all the districts of J&K as a ‘historic cultural moment’. In a statement she praised the overwhelming participation of students, artists, civil society groups and local communities whose voices united in the powerful recitation of Vande Mataram.
Meanwhile, during an interaction programme, BJP J&K vice president, Rekha Mahajan, focussed her address on India’s rising global profile driven by self-reliance, innovation and citizen empowerment.
MLA, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal highlighted key welfare initiatives of the central government.
BJP district president, Asha Rani, Rashpal Verma, Arun Sharma, Suresh Kumar Falli, Keshav Dutt Sharma, Amit Dubey and Rakesh Samyal were also present.
Meanwhile, a joint Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha Sammelan, followed by a vibrant Vande Mataram programme, was organised today in Ramban, drawing enthusiastic participation from women, youth activists and BJP workers. The event was presided over by BJP District president Ramban, Neelam Langeh, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring message on empowerment, nationalism and organisational strengthening. BJP general secretaries Khajoor Singh Goria and Gurdeep Singh Chib, Renuka Katoch, Balbeer Singh, DDC members/vice presidents, Neelam Gupta, BJP District president Mehla Morcha, Surishta Devi, Santosh Devi, BJP general secretaries Mehla Morcha, Firdos Ahmed, retired ZEO, Khajoor Singh and Rajinder Singh, BJP District general secretaries Yuva Morcha Ramban were also present. Addressing the youth participants, Langeh urged them to take pride in the nation’s cultural heritage while embracing innovation and skill development. The Vande Mataram programme, organised as part of the ongoing patriotic initiatives across the UT, witnessed spirited participation as attendees collectively sang the National Song, symbolizing unity and devotion to the motherland.
A musical evening in Jammu turned ‘Vande Mataram’ into a living canvas of art, patriotism and hope under the presence of ‘The Delphic Council of J&K’ at Roop Nagar, Muthi where 150 years of Vande Mataram were brought down to earth like a living poem. As the event began with an instrumental rendition of Vande Mataram, it felt as though the earth and sky together were bowing to Bharat Mata. The charm of Swaranjali (A Musical Eve) deepened even more when it was shared that a three-day Inter-State Cultural Festival had just been successfully concluded in Srinagar in collaboration with JKAACL. The chief guest was Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Jammu North and former Minister while Brij Mohan Sharma, Principal Secretary Department of Culture was guest of honour. Special guests were a renowned vocalist Suraj Singh, author and actor Rameshwar Singh Raju, Rahul Dev Singh Salathia, noted drilling contractor of J&K, Parveen Sharma and Volleyball Coach, Amarjeet Singh. Ashok Singh, president of the Delphic Council of J&K, said the Council is committed to guide the youth to ‘Say No To Drugs and Yes To Life’ through the strength of Arts and Culture.
